New IMVU CEO !!

A Special Announcement posted by Joepez in the IMVU forum stated that CaryJay has become the new CEO of IMVU Inc and Will Harvey, the prior CEO and co-founder has his new role in IMVU. Read on to get the full announcement.

Thanks Joe. Hello everyone, my name is Cary (Aka CaryJay) and I have recently come on board at IMVU as the new CEO. Will Harvey, the prior CEO and co-founder, will remain with IMVU as VP Strategic Initiatives and as Chairman of the Board of IMVU. We will work closely together to keep IMVU moving forward.

As many of you know, especially those of you have been with us since the start, IMVU has been growing at a tremendous rate. IMVU has gone from a few people working on an idea, to over 50 employees working on a great set of products that now make up IMVU. Because of this growth, the company decided that it needed to evolve. In order to change we needed to hire a new CEO with experience in taking companies to the next level in their development. Before I go any further, let me again thank Will for all of his great visionary work in getting IMVU to where it is today.

While I’m new to IMVU, I believe very strongly in the company’s direction to date. I don’t think we’ve begun to reach IMVU’s potential. The future for IMVU is very exciting for both its communities and employees. At IMVU I believe our most important assets are our users, creators, and employees. A large part of IMVU’s success has been the amazing talent of our content creators and the incredible assets you have all brought or developed at IMVU.

The content creator program is extremely important to IMVU and to me. Over the course of the last year we’ve grown from primarily IMVU-created products to over a million virtual goods now mostly created by you! Likewise, content creators a year ago were earning a few million credits per month in total, and now close to a billion credits per month are exchanging hands with content creators. The level of creativity and execution from the community has grown leaps and bounds and is simply amazing and one of the key reasons I took the job with IMVU.

I know that I have some big shoes to fill, but I believe that IMVU has a great team which can deliver on our vision, and an amazing content creator program that will help carry us there. I look forward to seeing where we can go together, and ensuring that all of you can be successful, and make IMVU the number one place for content creators!
